TitleDescriptionWhere to Get
Made For This – a Catholic Mom’s Guide to Birth by Mary HaseltineA wonderful and enjoyable book to read on how to invite and trust in God throughout your pregnancy and labor journey, in addition to all the evidence-based knowledge you need about pregnancy and birth to empower you to make the best decision for you and your baby.
Amazon or Thriftbooks for used books
The Birth Partner 4th Edition by Penny SimkinA very comprehensive guide for birth partners on how to physically and emotionally support pregnant and laboring women throughout the pregnancy and labor stages. Treat this book as a textbook, you can skip around and focus on what you need to know.

The most recent edition is the 5th one, but they used gender inclusive language, which I personally dislike.
Amazon or Thriftbooks for used books
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding by the founders of La Leche LeagueAn excellent book about all things breastfeeding. This book is, hands down, a must have if you’re planning to breastfeed your newborn – especially if you’re a first time mom.
Amazon or Thriftbooks for used books
Nurturing New Families by Naomi KemenyA very comprehensive guide for mothers, family members, friends, and postpartum doulas on how to best support the new mom and her family during postpartum. In my opinion, this book is far more detailed than any postpartum planning courses available.
